Yearling harp seal rescued by OBX team, now recovering in rehab and nearing release

A male yearling harp seal is now recovering in rehab after being rescued by partners of the OBX Marine Mammal Stranding Network, according to Jennette’s Pier.

Staff members from the North Carolina Aquarium’s Jennette’s Pier assisted as part of the OBX MMSN response team on Feb. 28 . ‘Crew’ was transported first to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center and later to the National Aquarium in Baltimore.

According to Jennette’s Pier “Crew” has recovered nicely and will be released soon…
