Jurors reached a near-unanimous guilty verdict in the trial of Everett Schwartz, 38, on April 24, one day after attorneys rested their cases before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Alan C. Lazerow.
Schwartz was convicted on charges of first-degree murder, firearm use, having a handgun on his person, and firearm possession as a prohibited person. He was acquitted of one charge of having a handgun in a vehicle.
The charges stemmed from the murder of 34-year-old Timothy Orem, who was shot dead in Curtis Bay on the night of Feb 1, 2021. Orem’s death was among a string of three shootings Schwartz was accused of commiting between January and February 2021…
