Jury selection began May 4 in the trial of 25-year-old Khaleb Edmonds, who is accused of murdering two 26-year-old men during an August 2023 shooting in West Baltimore.
Edmonds, who faces two counts of first-degree murder and several firearm charges, is being tried before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lazette C. Ringgold-Kirksey. The defendant officially moved to trial after rejecting a plea offer from the prosecutor, which would have carried a sentence of life, suspending all but 40 years.
The investigation began in the early morning hours of Aug. 24, 2023, when Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the 2200 block of W. North Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Myron White inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. A second victim, Darius Hill, was located nearby on the 1800 block of N.
