BALTIMORE, MD—An 18-year-old member of a violent carjacking ring was sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role in a months-long crime spree that targeted rideshare drivers and their passengers, Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced Monday.
Corique Moseley received a total sentence of 75 years with 35 years suspended from Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Cahill. Under the terms of the sentence, Moseley must serve the first 30 years without the possibility of parole and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
Moseley was one of six defendants linked to a criminal organization responsible for more than 40 violent incidents between November 2022 and January 2023. Prosecutors said the group used Uber and Lyft applications to lure drivers before carjacking them at gunpoint.
