Hydrochloric acid leak from CSX rail car contained in south Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A hydrochloric acid leak from a CSX rail car in south Baltimore was contained Tuesday evening, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. on May 5, the fire department received a call from CSX for a reported hydrochloric acid leak from a rail car located near the 800 block of Chesapeake Avenue and 9th Street.

Upon arrival, HAZMAT units started to identify and contain the source of the leak…
