Board of Education announces series of BCPS Superintendent search forums

TOWSON, MD—The Board of Education of Baltimore County is launching a series of public and staff forums next week as it begins a national search for a new superintendent to lead the state’s third-largest school system.

The forums, scheduled for May 18 through May 21, will provide community members and school employees an opportunity to share their priorities regarding the leadership qualities and characteristics they desire in a new leader. The search follows the February retirement announcement of current Superintendent Dr. Myriam Rogers, who is set to step down on July 1.

Board Chair Jane Lichter described the forums as an essential component of the recruitment process, noting that the gathered perspectives will help guide the executive search firm Ray and Associates LLC.
