The Zachary Community School District and its contracted school bus operator are sparring over who is potentially liable after a middle school girl claimed she was raped by classmates during a bus ride home.
The seventh grader’s parents originally filed the suit in civil court against both the district and the bus company, First Student. That suit claims both entities had the responsibility to prevent the sexual assault since the girl was under their supervision.
