BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A Baton Rouge woman says she wouldn’t be here without the quick action of her pilates instructor, who used an automated external defibrillator after she went into cardiac arrest during a workout.
April Kirwan had been attending Balanced Body of Baton Rouge three days a week when she collapsed near the end of a session in 2024.
“I didn’t feel bad. I went through my routines and it was toward the end of the session, I was doing a stretch and went out,” Kirwan said.
