Detectives with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit have arrested Nicholas Wactor, 18, of Gonzales, on charges of Felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Simple Burglary of a Vehicle, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, and Misdemeanor Theft.
The charges stem from a June 22, 2026, investigation into the theft of a vehicle from a residence on Thurston McCrory Road. Video surveillance showed suspects arriving in a pickup truck before one suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and drove away.
Later that evening, deputies located the stolen vehicle in St. Amant. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, leading deputies on a brief pursuit before stopping at a business on LA 429. A juvenile was taken into custody at the scene…
