North Baton Rouge grocery store project loses $18M in state funding after Landry veto

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A long-awaited grocery store development in North Baton Rouge is facing a major setback after Gov. Jeff Landry vetoed $18 million in state capital outlay funding for the project last week.

Project developer Richard Preis said the development was otherwise ready to move forward.

“In our business, it’s ground ready,” Preis said.
