New Orleans tax preparer accused of bilking state out of fraudulent refunds

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A New Orleans tax preparer has been jailed in East Baton Rouge Parish on felony allegations of fabricating documents and filing false returns to bilk the state out of thousands of dollars of fraudulent income tax refunds.

Jasmine Dumas, 32, was booked June 29 with filing false public records, principal to theft, principal to attempted theft and on an open fugitive warrant, jail records show.
