Clemson went to Baton Rouge hoping its rebuilt offensive line could provide a foundation for a new offense. Instead, the foundation crumbled beneath the Tigers.
The problems began immediately and persisted throughout Clemson’s 51-10 loss to LSU on Saturday night. The Tigers couldn’t create running lanes, couldn’t consistently protect quarterbacks Christopher Vizzina and Tait Reynolds and couldn’t stay on the field long enough to establish any offensive rhythm.
By halftime, Clemson had one first down, 54 total yards and a 31-3 deficit. Its running backs had gained six yards on seven carries, and the Tigers had failed on all eight of their third-down attempts…
