The Ascension Parish Zoning Commission voted 5-2 to recommend council approval for a new Walmart Neighborhood Market along Hwy. 73 near Dutchtown High School during the Sept. 9 meeting.
The parish council will consider the rezoning request for the property, which is located just off Interstate 10 in a heavily traveled area.
