One of the last pieces of developable land along the Mississippi River in the Baton Rouge area is on the market for $12 million.
The 32.3-acre tract known as River Park, adjacent to The Queen casino, has been eyed by developers for years, driving strong interest from prospective buyers. Most recently, the new master plan for Downtown Baton Rouge envisioned part of the land as a potential site for a youth sports complex.
Previously, real estate agents eyed River Park as a site for an amphitheater, though it caused a tug-of-war between developers, since some saw it as an industrial space.
