On a rainy January night in 2024, hours before his death, Malaak Ross, 22, was standing in the parking lot of the Save More convenience store on Gardere Lane making hand-to-hand marijuana sales.
He approached two men in the lot who he hoped would be customers. Prosecutors say the pair got Ross’ Instagram contact information and scheduled a drug deal for later that evening at an apartment down the street.
