Rising diesel prices hit area businesses

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Rising diesel prices are forcing a local trucking company to consider cutting certain services in the future, according to its owner.

Razorback Rentals hauls sand and gravel with a fleet of ten trucks that are fueled every day, said owner Karl Mears.

“Right now it’s a losing battle,” Mears said.

Fuel costs rise 75%

Mears said the current diesel prices are the highest he has paid locally since he took over the business in 2004…
