Spectrum takes over cable, internet service across south Louisiana after $34.5 billion deal

Cox Communications, the brand that has provided cable and, more recently, internet services in Louisiana since cable television was in its infancy 45 years ago, was officially rebranded as Spectrum on Wednesday across the state.

The rebrand follows Cox’s $34.5 billion sale to Charter Communications, Spectrum’s Connecticut-based parent company. Charter is now the largest cable and internet provider in the nation with 37 million customer across 45 states.

“Other than the name on the bill, nothing there will change in terms of how people submit their payments,” Winfrey said in a media call following the Aug. 20 closure of the purchase. “We’re not going to force existing customers to migrate into Spectrum pricing and packaging.”…
