BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A federal jury has sided with former Baton Rouge police officer Troy Lawrence Jr. in a lawsuit tied to the now-shuttered BRPD interrogation site known as the “Brave Cave.”
A judgment signed Wednesday, Sept. 24, by Chief U.S. District Judge Shelly D. Dick entered judgment in favor of Lawrence, the City of Baton Rouge, and the Parish of East Baton Rouge. The lawsuit filed by Jeremy Lee was dismissed with prejudice, meaning Lee cannot bring the same claims again.
Lee alleged he was questioned inside the warehouse and beaten by police. Body-camera video connected to Lee’s case helped bring public attention to the site, which attorneys referred to as the “Brave Cave.”…
