The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of a mother and daughter reported missing in late July as a case of suspicious circumstances.
The Sheriff’s Office said Danielle Escue Lea, 39, and her 10-year-old daughter, Alayna Lea, were reported missing out of Baton Rouge on July 28. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case, citing “suspicious circumstances,” while the Baton Rouge Police Department investigates it separately as a missing persons case, according to a written statement from SMPSO spokesperson Jordan Lippincott.
