PLAQUEMINE— A Plaquemine man previously convicted of more than 150 charges related to malfeasance, money laundering and theft was arrested on Monday for forgery and the felony filing of public records.
Thomas McCormick was arrested by Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office on one count of forgery and one count of felony filing of public records. He is currently being held in isolation without bond, according to online parish jail records.
Last year, Thomas and his brother Robert McCormick were convicted of bilking the state out of approximately $800,000 during state emergencies such as Hurricanes Laura and Delta, as well as the Winter Storm of 2021.
