When Josh Carley was a high school student at Parkview Baptist School and Dutchtown High School, he was known as the resident cinephile. He amassed such a large collection of DVDs that his classmates would “check out” movies from him, with a policy that one person could only take two movies at a time. Throughout his time in school, Carley was the “director” that everyone wanted to work with for their movie projects.
His love for film eventually turned into a career.
Carley, 38, has worked on the editing team for several television series, including the second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us,” which was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Drama Series in 2025.
