It’s looking like it’ll be a wet weekend across much of south Louisiana, and some outdoor events that were slated for the first few days of October are being rescheduled as locals brace for days of thunderstorms and potentially flooding rains.
Weather forecasters on Wednesday said they expect multiple rounds of thunderstorms to start rolling through the New Orleans area, Baton Rouge and Lafayette late Friday and possibly into Monday as tropical air moving inland from the Gulf interacts with a slow-moving cold front.
“We have a lot of tropical moisture headed our way from the Gulf, and a cold front moving in our direction from the west,” NOLA.com senior meteorologist Damon Singleton said. “Those forces will land on top of us this weekend.”…
