BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man is not allowed to have animals for 10 years as part of his sentence after he pleaded guilty to seven counts of felony aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux, Quavis Deshawn Grant, 37, was initially sentenced to 10 years of hard labor on each of the counts, running concurrently. But the court suspended sentencing, and he received five years’ probation.
Perrilloux’s office said, “As a condition of his probation, the defendant was ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation and comply with all treatment recommendations.”…
