Baton Rouge residents raise noise concerns over Amazon drone deliveries at community meeting

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Residents in neighborhoods near Amazon’s Cortana facility met with officials Thursday (Oct. 2) to discuss noise complaints linked to the company’s Prime Air drone delivery service.

Amazon’s Prime Air drones have operated in parts of Baton Rouge since this summer. Residents in the Broadmoor and Sherwood neighborhoods near the facility say the drones have created a constant buzzing noise.

Residents describe noise impact

Ric Lecompte, a 19-year Broadmoor resident, said drones fly close to his home.

“Right now, they’re flying just barely over the trees at my house, I mean really and truly,” Lecompte said…
