Ochsner The Grove expands OR suites, OB clinics and new tech in $50M investment

Six years ago, Ochsner Health System expanded its footprint in Baton Rouge to a plot nestled just West of the I-10, 1-12 corridor. The medical complex, The Grove, outgrew its capacity faster than expected.

“It filled up in five years in what we thought would happen in 15,” said Stephen Pepitone, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Ochsner Baton Rouge.

Ochsner announced the expansion of its surgical operating rooms and OB-GYN clinic in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday. The total hospital investment was estimated at $50 million.

The facility doubled its OR suites from four to eight and began using the rooms last month. In the adjacent building, Ochsner moved its OB-GYN clinic spaces from the fourth floor to the fifth floor, now sharing a level with the Children’s Shaquille O’Neal Pediatric Super Clinic…
