Officials to brighten Baton Rouge with improved street lighting

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Street lighting on three roadways in Baton Rouge is being significantly upgraded, announced Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome. According to Broome’s office, crews are replacing traditional mercury vapor bulbs with brighter, energy-efficient LED bulbs. Key upgrades include 22 lights on St. Gerard Street, 44 lights on Third Street downtown, and 58 lights on Scenic Highway.
