A Baton Rouge man accused of participating in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol must surrender to local law enforcement by Monday, his defense attorney said. A federal judge in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday ordered that Edward L. Richmond Jr., 40, be held before trial on federal felony and misdemeanor charges accusing him of participating in the Capitol riot and using a metal baton to strike officers defending the building.
