The five-member Gonzales City Council will decide the fate of Dirty South Daiquiris tonight, the watering hole having appealed the denial of its liquor license renewal. Located on the very western edge of Gonzales’ municipal limits, the bar came onto city’s radar after numerous criminal complaints emanated from its 2705 W Hwy 30, Suite A address. Having (apparently) unsuccessfully sought Dirty South’s eviction in December, CAO Scot Byrd informed the bar owner that the license would not be renewed via correspondence dated January 31, 2024.
