GEISMAR, La. (WAFB) – Two people were flown to Baton Rouge General Hospital’s burn unit after a fire at the Chevron REG Plant in Geismar on Thursday morning, Sept. 19. Baton Rouge General’s Vice President of Communications Meghan Parrish says one of the workers received what is considered “15 percent burns” and that worker is listed in serious condition. The other worker, who received 2 percent burns, “is in good condition and will be discharged later today to continue treatment with outpatient care,” Parrish said.
