Mississippi man arrested in ‘murder-for-hire’ scheme in Louisiana

A Mississippi man has been arrested for a “potential murder-for-hire” in Louisiana.

Johnnie Hicks, 25, of Vicksburg, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, solicitation for murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated burglary, obstruction of justice, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Iberville Parish.

Hicks’ DNA was found at a Maringouin, Louisiana, crime scene where Herman Harris, 65, was found deceased from a gunshot wound on Aug. 27.

The DNA was found on a pillow.

Authorities are also searching for Javadda Lewis, 32, in connection to the case.

They previously arrested David Brooks, Jr., 40, and Rilonda Brooks, 44. The two were both charged with second-degree murder, solicitation for murder, criminal conspiracy, and obstruction of justice.
