LSU impresses with a huge offensive game against South Alabama

Going into this game, South Alabama had some gigantic offensive outputs. That would not happen on Saturday night in Baton Rouge.

The Tigers outgained the Jaguars 667 to 333.

Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had an impressive performance, passing for a career-best 409 yards and tossing two touchdowns, guiding No. 13 LSU to a 42-10 victory against South Alabama on Saturday night in Death Valley.

After the game, Brian Kelly shared his thoughts.

“I’m pleased with the guys, their effort tonight. The whole mindset of coming in here to Tiger Stadium and playing the mind of football you want to play as the season begins to take shape into an SEC schedule.”

“Clearly, offensively, we did some great things tonight running the football, throwing it, over 667 yards. Look, you can characterize it any way you want but Nussmeier, the receivers, Durham, all of those guys were high performers tonight.”
