BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — One place in Baton Rouge has been whipping up great brunch food since 1998. With relatively new ownership and a massive remodel, it’s putting a new face on its historic menu.
“I have customers who come in every day of every week, Monday through Friday,” said Rober Alamirie, owner of Mason’s Grill.
Alamirie came to Louisiana from Miami. He said he worked for corporate restaurants and learned a lot, and when he moved to Louisiana, he began studying the art of Cajun cuisine after marrying his eventual wife.
“It’s something I loved to do, and I quickly learned how to cook it,” Alamirie said.
The restaurant now has higher-grade meats and specials, and Alamirie said customers have been receptive to small changes that build on the solid foundation from previous ownership.
“I think God has been really good to us, adding those items to the menu,” Alamirie said.
