Joe Burrow Foundation to teach Baton Rouge kids about eating healthy

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Joe Burrow Foundation will be at a Baton Rouge elementary school Monday, Nov. 11 to teach kids about the benefits of eating healthy.

An event called Power of Produce will have interactive lessons, taste tests and a mini-market experience to teach Claiborne Elementary School students about making smart food choices, according to the foundation.

Fresh produce will be donated by Rouses Markets for the students to “shop” from in the mini-market.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the Joe Burrow Foundation on this impactful initiative. Teaching our students about nutrition and empowering them to make healthier choices is an investment in their future and well-being. This experience is not just educational; it’s a celebration of learning and growth that extends beyond the classroom,” said EBR Schools Superintendent LaMont Cole.

The Joe Burrow Foundation aims to help underserved communities in Louisiana and Ohio by addressing food insecurity and mental health.
