The Ascension Public Schools twelfth-grade student of the year is Marlie McLellan of Dutchtown High School. Every year, each school in our district selects a Student of the Year who competes at the district level in a rigorous process. The students have to submit a biographical sketch and a portfolio of their accomplishments, then be interviewed by members of the Ascension Parish community who volunteer as judges.
