BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Soldier Outreach and Marine Corps League Auxiliary are accepting donations to send to deployed military members.
The drop-off event will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24 in the parking lot of the Walmart located on College Drive.
“The mission of the Soldier Outreach is to provide comfort items from home to our deployed service men and women overseas,” according to Baton Rouge Soldier Outreach.
The outreach is asking for various items to be donated including cheese, boxes of raisins, pretzels, peanut butter crackers, sunflower seeds, cookies, Tony’s or other seasonings, granola bars, chips and trail mix. Click here to see the items that they are looking to add to the care packages.

Christy Smith, CEO of BRSO said, “we gather names of service members from the Greater Baton Rouge community and send care packages overseas every quarter.” They have sent more than 18,000 individual care packages.
