BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
EBRSO said the man arrived at Baton Rouge General around 1 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9. The man told deputies that he suffered the gunshot wound while playing dice around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
The shooting victim said a friend drove him to St. Mary Parish before deciding he needed medical treatment and went back to Baton Rouge General in East Baton Rouge Parish, EBRSO said.
According to EBRSO, they are not sure where the shooting happened as there were no shot spotter activations reported.

The man is expected to recover from his injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
