While the Chicago Sky only have a single WNBA Championship in their 19-year existence as a franchise, they have drafted and developed some of the best players in league history. Recently, players like Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso have dominated headlines, but they were preceded by a handful of WNBA greats.
Elena Delle Donne may be the most well-known of the group, but others like Courtney Vandersloot, Candice Dupree and Sylvia Fowles have graced a Sky uniform and left their mark long before Reese or Cardoso ever stepped foot on a WNBA court. These two will have big shoes to fill as these players, most of whom have already called it a career, continue to boost their resumes as WNBA legends.
Sylvia Fowles, who was the No. 2 pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky, spent the first seven seasons of her career with the franchise and was a highly decorated player. She won the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Award on two occasions while in Chicago and also earned six All-Defense and four All-WNBA selections.
