( Baton Rouge, LA ) According to information from the Louisiana Lottery , the newly revamped format of the popular multi-state lottery game Mega Millions is paying off in a big way. The Mega Millions game has switched from “drawing” a multiplier for each drawing to assigning a random multiplier for every ticket sold. One of the big winners in Tuesday’s drawing was a Louisiana ticket that featured a “10X” multiplier.
Recent history with Mega Millions has revealed a nice winning streak for Louisiana players. Just a few weeks ago a ticket sold in Shreveport earned a prize of $20,000. A $30,000 winner was made recently on a ticket sold in Leesville. Baton Rouge was the site of another $30,000 winner the ticket was sold around the first of the year.
What Are the Changes in the ‘New’ Mega Millions Lottery Game?
The Louisiana Lottery reminds players that Mega Millions does have a new purchase price for those wanting to participate in the drawings. Instead of two dollars for a regular ticket or three dollars for a ticket with the “Megaplier” you’ll have to plunk down five dollars. But you are guaranteed a multiplier of at least “2X” which could go as high as “10X” which was the case for Tuesday’s Louisiana winner.
