3 fired BRPD officers continue fight to get jobs back Monday

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Three Baton Rouge police officers are continuing their fight to have the Baton Rouge Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board overturn their firing by Chief of Police Thomas Morse.

The board, in January, voted against a “summary disposition” which would have allowed former officers Troy Lawrence Sr., Douglas Chutz, and Todd Thomas to get their jobs back or provide backpay to them.

Defense attorneys for those officers challenged the board’s decision, after claiming that board members made the decision in executive session without proper notice…
