UConn women’s basketball transfer addition Serah Williams has explained why she chose Geno Auriemma ’s Huskies over joining LSU and Kim Mulkey for her last season of college hoops.
The 6-4 Brooklyn native was being pursued heavily by Mulkey and others after three strong seasons at Wisconsin, where she was a two-time All-Big Ten First Teamer and Big Ten All-Defensive Team member for the Badgers. Mulkey has seen six Tigers players enter the transfer portal and made her feelings clear , and she pulled out all the stops to try and land Williams having already added MiLaysia Fulwiley from South Carolina.
Williams has one season of eligibility remaining to use at UConn, where she will try to help the defending national champions go back-to-back for the first time since winning four straight titles from 2013 to 2016.
