Jesuit sweeps hurdles, wins two distance events for historic team placement at 5A meet

Ja’ir Burks won the two hurdle events, Brandt Blanchard won the 800 meters, and Brady Mullen continued his dominance in the 3,200 as Jesuit earned what is thought to be its highest team placement at the state track and field championships in roughly 60 years.

With a runner-up finish, the Blue Jays finished one point behind Catholic-Baton Rouge in the Class 5A meet held Saturday at LSU’s Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
