The Myrtles is hosting outdoor steak nights with bottomless wine in May: Here’s what to know

Cool nights, good company and a steak and potatoes meal by an open fire grill — that’s what al fresco nights at the Myrtles Plantation are all about.

“Al fresco” is Italian for “in the cool air,” and in the U.S., it’s been adopted to refer to outdoor dining in general. For the month of May, al fresco dining is coming to The Myrtles every Tuesday night through thoughtfully paired steak dinners with optional bottomless wine. The outdoor dining specials were inspired by the owners’ Morgan Moss and Lizzie Moss’ travels in Mexico.

The culture of open-air dining appealed to them.

“The main purpose of that was to highlight the food and the people that were surrounding you,” said Nick Kent, culinary director of Restaurant 1796 at the Myrtles. “(The owners) had this idea and brought it back, so we got a custom grill fabricated and welded up for it and haven’t looked back since.”…
