BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A spokeswoman for the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) told the WAFB I-TEAM Tuesday that the agency will be making changes to a letter that caught homeowners inside the city limits off guard by confusing them into thinking they owed money for alarm permit renewals in June.
Baton Rouge Police acknowledged the letter was confusing and may have confused homeowners into thinking they needed to pay for an alarm permit renewal on their security systems.
“You brought it to our attention,” said Corporal Saundra Watts. “We appreciate that. I sent an email to the chief. I sat down, and we took a look at the letter, and we understand there’s some concern the public has with those letters. This is something we don’t take lightly.”…
