WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) – Deputies are warning the public about scammers trying to sell land they don’t actually own.
According to the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, the scammers have made two recent attempts to take advantage of unsuspecting victims.
In one case, a scammer went as far as to list a property online with an MLS number, making everything appear legitimate. Also, the scammers will often try to fraudulently sell the land at below-market prices…
