‘That child died looking at me’: Baker man recalls teen’s final moments after deadly shooting

BAKER, La. (WAFB) – A Baker neighborhood is in mourning after two brothers were shot, one of them fatally, on Monday, July 7, in a residential area just minutes from the city’s police station.

According to the Baker Police Department, Terrance Freeman, 18, and his brother Terrell, 19, were shot during an altercation on Seville Avenue near Groom Road. A person close to the family told WAFB that both teens had just graduated from Baker High School this past May.

Wardell Lewis, a neighbor who heard the shooting and tried to help the victims, said the scene continues to haunt him…
