BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department provided an update Wednesday on the officer who was injured after being hit by a vehicle near Joor Road and Prescott Road.
Sgt. Caleb Eisworth, a 23-year veteran of the police department, remains hospitalized.
As part of the recovery, doctors determined that both of Eisworth’s legs needed to be amputated. Immediately after, his vitals improved significantly. Doctors are optimistic that this was the solution to enable Eisworth’s recovery. He remains intubated at this time and is improving daily…
