Many from Louisiana helping in Texas flood rescue efforts, assisting survivors with recovery

The United Cajun Navy remains among the groups on the ground in south central Texas searching for those victims who remain unaccounted for. And the Cajun Navy’s incident commanders tell us they are running into complications as their search for victims continues. Firefighters from Zachary, which is near Baton Rouge, are also assisting. They have their Swift Water Rescue Team using boats to patrol and search the Guadalupe River. Those firefighters are part of what’s called Louisiana Task Force 2, a collection of first responders from our state who were deployed to Texas. A Lafayette entrepreneur known for his Cajun seasoning is also lending a hand in Texas.
