BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested two people in connection with a deadly Fourth of July shooting.
According to the sheriff’s office, Jadon Sterling, 17, of Gonzales, and Jeremiah Brown, 20, of St. Gabriel, were arrested on charges of second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. Brown is also charged with principal to second-degree murder and principal to illegal use of weapons.
Around 10 p.m., APSO deputies were called to a home on Dave Miller Road in Geismar about a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found Justin Scott, 18, with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died at the hospital.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Scott and Sterling were at a gathering at the residence before they got into a fight. Sterling was struck and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was arrested after being released from the hospital…
