Louisiana Flood Watch: Up to 15 Inches of Rain Possible Through Saturday in Baton Rouge and Lafayette

Baton Rouge, La. – Tropical rains will drench much of Louisiana beginning Wednesday afternoon, with up to 15 inches possible in some areas by Saturday, prompting widespread Flood Watches from New Orleans to Lafayette.

According to the National Weather Service in New Orleans and Lake Charles, a slow-moving tropical disturbance in the northern Gulf will bring rounds of heavy, training rainfall through late Friday night in the southeast, and through Saturday evening in central and southwest Louisiana.

In southeast Louisiana, parishes including Orleans, Jefferson, Tangipahoa, and Baton Rouge are under a Flood Watch beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
