Man who murdered La. State Trooper, Prairieville woman headed to Angola following sentencing

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) – A man who murdered a Louisiana State Trooper and a Prairieville woman in a three-parish crime spree is headed to Angola.

For the 2021 crimes, sentencing was finalized for Matthew Mire in Livingston Parish on Monday, July 21. In all, he has received two life sentences plus an additional 348 years. One hundred fifty-two years of Mire’s sentence are for crimes committed in Livingston Parish.

Authorities said that in 2021, Matthew Mire broke into a home in Livingston Parish and then stole a vehicle before heading to Ascension Parish. That’s where he shot Pamela Adair and her boyfriend at a home in Prairieville. She died at a hospital. Her boyfriend survived.

The state trooper, Adam Gaubert, was shot and killed while sitting in his marked patrol car during the search for Mire. Authorities eventually captured Mire in East Baton Rouge Parish…
